Hare & Hounds 4 Postponed again

Hi All,

Sorry to say the conditions on the Wey have not improved enough.  Together, the prospect of more rain in the next 2 days, the advice from the river management that the river is still likely to be in flood on Sunday and bridge work in Guildford, has forced us to postpone this Sunday.

We will now used 9 February as H & H 4 and either the 16 or 23 February( as long as I can get OK from NT) for H & H 5.

Please let me know which of these dates is best for you and we will go with the majority.

If any of the visiting club would like to still come on Sunday, with experienced paddlers, for a paddle from 10.30 to 13.00 the on the stretch from the Club to Guildford then please let me know by tomorrow evening( Friday).  We will be able to lay on some refreshments if we know how many.

Waiting to hear from you.

Cheers

Jim

AGM

The Wey Kayak Club AGM will take place on 27th February 2014.  If you are interested in helping to run the club, then nominations for committee members, and suggested changes to the club rules should be forwarded to the Chairman by the next meeting (13th February 2014)

In 2013 there were vacant positions (Social secretary, General committee members). Incumbents of other positions are also quite happy to be contested!

You can see current committee members on the website (under Club and then Committee)

Tyres

Please note that there are now tyres at the Waterside Centre for training purposes.  They should only be used under the direction of a coach.  They are very heavy and may cause injury if not used properly.

GWC400 Club Prize Draw

The GWC 400 Club draw was made on 6 January by the Councillor Angela Gunning . The monthly draw winning ticket for £50 was No. 13.

We would encourage all members and friends of the GWC clubs to join the GWC 400 Club.  All profits from the 400 Club go to paying off the Waterside Centre's loans and proposed developments at the Centre which we hope to start early in 2014.

Full details on how to join can be  found on the Wey Kayak Club website www.weykayak.co.uk.

Each 'ticket' cost just £2.00 a month and can be paid for by monthly Standing Order if more convenient.

Hare & Hounds 4 postponed

Due to flood conditions this Sunday's Hare & Hounds has been moved to Sunday 26th January
