Hare & Hounds 5 - concluded!

After many delays and reschedules, the Hare & Hounds 2013/2014 series was (finally) concluded on Sunday and the women's course record was broken by Faye for the second time in succession!

Hare & Hounds 5

The final event in the Hare & Hounds series is this Sunday the 30th. Make sure you are there to win that exclusive trophy.

 

We hope that you will be able to join us.  The weather looks very good.  Please remember that the clocks change on Sunday!

 

We will publish at the end of the week on the website the details for the WEY MARATHON on 27 April and look forward to see you there.

Here are the full Results. After 5 cancellations, we finally ran the race, and two course records were set to boot! These were in U14M C1 and SF.  With the latter Fay set a new female overall course record!

Hi All,

 

I hope you have all enjoyed the good weather over the last 2 weeks and are now keen to get back competing.

 

This weekend we have planned a busy 2 days at Wey and hope you will all make use of the chance and come and join in.

April Regatta

The deadline for entries for the first national regatta of the season is looming...I need them from anyone wishing to race by the very latest on 24 March. I have emailed everyone on my sprint racing list including several new names. If you wish to be added to or deleted from said list email me and let me know.

Planning Consent for GWC/WKC extension

GWC400 Club Prize Draw

The draw was made on 3 March by the Matt Shreeve, the new Guildford Mountaineering Club's GWC Management Committee member . The Bonus ticket for £50 was No.182. The monthly draw winning ticket for £50 was No.106.
 
We would encourage all members and friends of the GWC clubs to join the GWC 400 Club.  With the granting of the planning permission for the new extensions and with it, the purchase of the total grass area by the Centre on a very long lease,  we are into a new phase of fund raising.  All profits from the 400 Club go to paying off the current Waterside Centre's loans and fund raising for the new developments at the Centre which we will start early in 2014.

Full details on how to join can be  found on the Wey Kayak Club website www.weykayak.co.uk. They are also attached here.

Each 'ticket' cost just £2.00 a month and can be paid for by monthly Standing Order if more convenient.

Hare & Hounds 4 and 5, Wey Sprints, GWC AGM

Very sorry to have to inform that the river is again running high today with the NT RED boards up, they tell me until Tuesday.  So H & H 4 is off tomorrow.

 

We have decided that:

 

9 March is no good because of the Guildford to Woking running 1/2 marathon with will make it very difficult to get to the Club.

16 March is a marathon selection event day and many will be effected by that.

 

So we have decided to go for 23 March for H & H 4.  This is the day after the Wey Sprints on 22nd, so a busy weekend, hopefully.

 

We have also decided on 30 March for H & H 5.  We know this is Mother Day but we have run out of dates.  Get Mum to come fore tea and a bacon roll with us!!!!

 

It is the Waterside AGM on Monday at 2000 at the Centre.  Please support the Club if you can at the meeting.
