Boat Maintenance Day
Around thirty club members rallied to "Bosun Jed's" appeal for a working party to inspect, maintain and tidy Club boats and equipment. Luckily he chose the best day of a fairly dismal Bank Holiday weekend! A BBQ and refreshments were provided to sustain the workers.
"I realise that it was a big ask for you to turn out on a Bank Holiday weekend but the response was fantastic. As a result of all of your efforts every boat has been checked, had necessary adjustments made and been pressure washed. All of the club paddles and buoyancy aids have been checked, marked and organised. There was even some gardening being done! And to top it all of we had a superb BBQ. So a big thanks is due to everyone who turned out and pulled together to make the day so successful and hopefully enjoyable! Jed
See link to a few photos. (Why does Sage's head not have a shadow? Richard; have you a licence for that?)

GWC 400
The GWC 400 Club draw was made on 14 April by a Wey Kayak Club members' Mum. . The monthly draw winning ticket for £50 was No.171.
We would encourage all members and friends of the GWC clubs to join the GWC 400 Club. With the granting of the planning permission for the new extensions and with it, the purchase of the total grass area by the Centre on a very long lease, we are into a new phase of fund raising.
All profits from the 400 Club go to paying off the current Guildford Waterside Centre's loans and fund raising for the new developments at the Centre. It is anticipated that the work on the Main Hall extension and the New Kayak Shed will start in September.
The June draw will take place on 31 May at the Wey Kayak Club's Race Day. There will be a bonus draw of £100 in addition to the monthly draw so sign up now.
Full details on how to join can be found on the Wey Kayak Club website www.weykayak.co.uk. They are also attached here.
Each 'ticket' cost just £2.00 a month and can be paid for by monthly Standing Order if more convenient.
